The Wakefield-La Pêche Writers Festival des écrivains (Wakefield Writers Festival - La Peche) is back for a second year of great authors and books, wine and music, May 8-10, 2015. On April 16, the Festival, in partnership with the Ottawa International Writers Festival, announced its 2015 authors and events during the House of Anansi Poetry Bash at the Black Sheep Inn.

Award-winning author and historian Charlotte Gray and 2014 Giller Prize winner Sean Michaels will be the Festival’s honoured guests at the Saturday evening « Tête-à-Tête », at Ski Vorlage, on May 9. Alan Neal, host of CBC Radio’s All in a Day, will animate the evening, with live music by the Gabbro Jazz Quintet. David Dollin, long-time Ottawa bookseller and former manager of Nicholas Hoare Books, returns to host a book table with works by participating festival authors as well as other local authors.

The Festival promises a weekend of literary delights.

On Friday evening, May 8, the Festival’s first event, Celebrating Youth Writing! will showcase poetry and prose presented by local young writers ages 10-14,well-known performance artist Janet LeRoy, and 17-year old slam poet Oliver Walter-Greenhorn, at the Centre Wakefield La Pêche. This will be followed by the popular Pub sCrawl where author and musician Phil Jenkins will take us on a jaunt to three village pubs and cafés and showcase local authors Allegra McKenzie, Barbara Bond and Ray Verdon.

The Authors Brunch, on Saturday, May 9, at the Wakefield Mill Inn& Spa, will feature Ottawa's Alan Cumyn and Charles DeLint, and local francophone author Madeleine Lefebvre. The Festival welcomes back Frances Itani, who will join authors Laurie Fyffe, Madeleine Lefebvre, Charles DeLint and Mary Ann Harrisoffering afternoon writers workshops at the Mill.

Francophone headliners will end the weekend on a high note on May 10 at Café Molo, with a unique wine and cheese event, « La Pêche des mots ! ».Hosted by local author Georges Lafontaine, it will feature slam poet Annie St. Jean, children's author Valérie Perreault, storyteller Danièle Vallée and poets Eric Charlebois and Lise Careau.
