Montreal, March 2, 2010 – Just For Laughs is thrilled to bring box-office breaking Scotsman Danny Bhoy and his full show to Ottawa’s NAC Theatre on Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, May 2 at 7:00pm. Hot off the 2009 Capital One Just For Laughs Comedy Tour, Danny returns to Canada to delight the masses with his new one-person show. Tickets are $35.50 (tax included, plus service charge) and go on sale Friday, March 5 at 10:00 am.
Danny will be touring across the country visiting 14 cities between April 29 and May 16, 2010. He’ll perform in Toronto, London, Ottawa, Moncton, Saint John, Glace Bay, Halifax, Charlottetown, Regina, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, Victoria and Vancouver.
This seven-time Just For Laughs Festival favourite received rave reviews for his performance at the 2005 Montreal Fest which garnered him a Gemini nomination for Best Individual Comedy Performance. Danny returned to Montreal in 2007 for the rare accolade of performing a 10-night solo run at the Gesù Theatre, which completely sold out. At last summer’s Montreal Festival, Danny recorded a one-hour special for Comedy Central which will have its world premiere in Canada on April 27 on The Comedy Network and air later this spring in the US. Danny continues to smash box office records worldwide and his fan base keeps growing exponentially. In the past three years, he completed a sold-out tour of Australia and New Zealand, made a triumphant return to his hometown of Edinburgh at the Festival Fringe, performed a critically acclaimed UK tour as well as the Capital One Just For Laughs Comedy Tour and The Las Vegas Comedy Festival. Danny also became the first stand-up comedian to do English-speaking shows in India.
As possibly the most-traveled comedian in the world – and arguably one of the biggest stand-up acts on the international scene – Danny describes, sometimes in painfully funny detail, the less glamorous side of a comedian's life on the road.
