Antoine (2008) dir by Laura Bari, Canada : French w English subtitles. A favourite of WIFF Artistic Director Robert Rooney, Antoine tells the charming and optimistic story of a young blind boy in Montréal, and his fanciful inner life. Antoine lives a remarkably integrated life in the regular school system, but in his spare time, he
is Detective Dec, boy detective. When he receives a call from Madame Rouski, who mysteriously dissolves while taking a shower, Antoine recruits two friends, and using a microphone they set out to find her. The multi-award winning Antoine pays homage to resilience and creativity.
