From Bessie Smith to Billie Holiday, to the more contemporary Chaka Khan, Satin Dolls celebrates the courage, determination, grace and unrelenting spirit of these women in overcoming incredible challenges and reflects the history, impact and contributions of these performers on the world of Jazz.
This musical portrait of the life and times of some of the greatest women of Jazz played to sold out houses at the Canadian Tulip Festival in 2008. Arts Court Productions now presents this critically acclaimed show featuring Ottawa-based performers, Deborah Davis and her band Segue to Jazz in the intimate setting of the Arts Court Theatre.
