The Canadian Film Institute’s (CFI) long-running guest artist Canadian experimental cinema series, Café Ex, opens its 26th season with Ottawa-based film director, writer and media artist, Pixie Cram.

As a longtime key figure in Ottawa’s independent media arts community, Cram is known for her bold explorations of identity, history, and technology through poetic storytelling.

Her films have been screened at festivals and galleries across Canada and internationally, including Interfilm Berlin, Filmfest Dresden, Animafest Cyprus, and the Ottawa International Animation Festival.

This Café Ex presentation will feature Cram’s remarkable collection of films, representing two decades of her diverse, ever-evolving catalogue of cinematic expression. She will also be in attendance to introduce and discuss her films with the audience.

The Canadian Film Institute is honoured to have Cram as the guest artist to open the 26th season of Café Ex.
