Join us for a celebration of women in art in honour of International Women’s Day!
Our night will begin with a Moonlight Market featuring local women artists and makers. Come, browse and pick up some unique items! While you shop, we’ll be running a pre-show showcasing some of our favourite women in film. And then, the main event: a screening of the futuristic feminist sci-fi cult action-fantasy Tank Girl, directed by Rachel Talalay!
In the year 2033 the planet’s water supply is controlled by a despotic company that is opposed by rebels who regularly risk their lives to poach the precious fluid. Unwilling to cower under the corporation’s tyrannical rule, a pair of outlaws known as Tank Girl (Lori Petty) and Jet Girl (Naomi Watts) rise up, joining the mysterious rebel Rippers to destroy the corrupt system.
