Spring Art Party
7:00 PM on Thursday Mar. 21st, 2019
Carleton University Art Gallery - St. Patrick's Bldg, 1125 Colonel By Dr.
Price: FREE

CU students and friends! This spring at Carleton University Art Gallery (CUAG), we're having another FREE after-hours Art Party!

Ottawa-based dreampop band Sparklesaurus headlines with their scaling synths, swirling guitar tones, colourful harmonies, and a stoney, muscular rhythm.

Accompanied by Carleton University’s very own singer song writer Adam Blasl with his calming acoustics, visionary lyrics, and rich voice.

Explore our exhibitions with an art-making activity organized by the Carleton Art History Undergraduate Society. Christi Belcourt's uses her paintings to send a message about protecting Mother Earth. Inspired by her activist message, we'll be exploring and making embroidery (a "domestic" art that has been used since the early 1970s as a covert form of protest) to create messages for change.

Bring an item of clothing or textile to create a unique embroidered design. We will also be providing design examples, textiles, thread, needles and embroidery hoops for those that need them.

We’ll also be serving pizza, coffee, tea, and pop!

Doors open at 7 p.m. and performances begin at 8 p.m. Admission is free and everyone is welcome! Post your photos on Instagram with #CUAGArtParty.

Organized in collaboration with Carleton Activity Board and Carleton Art History Undergraduate Society.
