Calling all fans of true crime podcasts and documentaries!
Are you addicted to stories of the horrible, terrible, and criminal? Can't shake that morbid fascination with the many ways that humanity goes awry?
If yes, then join us at The Art House Cafe for an evening of storytelling inspired by the Hometown Murder minisodes of My Favourite Murder! This is your chance to share your crazy crime connections with like-minded folks who won't judge you for your interest in Ted Bundy.
Come prepared with your own Hometown Murder/crime story, or just come to listen. A Hometown Murder is a true crime story (not necessarily murder-specific) that happened in a place you are from or have lived, and ideally you have some sort of crazy six-degrees-of-separation link to the events or people involved. Also feel free to share little-known crime stories that you have no connection to!
Your stories should be short(ish), interesting, and true. The evening will be a casual, informal open mic style event.
The Art House Cafe is hosting this meetup free of charge, so if you're able, please make sure to avail yourselves of the delicious drinks and nighttime nibbles they have for sale :)
* * * * *
Given the nature of this meetup, topics of discussion may be triggering for some people. We ask that you tell your stories true to facts, but please be aware of including excessive detail. We also want to establish that this meetup is a space built on believing and supporting victims of violent crime, NOT on celebrating violent criminals!
