Some affinity with Axelrod, perhaps? The rhythms are not present, but we hear the diverse instrumentation, the moody vibes, the chorus, a bit "classical".

There’s a lot to listen to - this show is only a taste. Highly recommended. His wife Julie Driscoll (or Tippetts as she goes by on this recording ) does a set as well.

Cool. I know Julie more from the 1960s collabs with Brian Auger & The Trinity

She also did the vocals on Carla Bley’s 1970 album, Tropic Appetites.
