Gil Eavns

Out Of The Cool: Master arranger Gil Evans was born 100 years ago this past May. Co-Host Alnoor Allidina presents a look at this great Canadian jazz icon, drawing from his 1960s recordings on Impulse and Verve. We will also sample from Centennial, a collection of Evans' recently discovered works. Also: Tune in for a chance to win two tickets to the upcoming Willem Breuker Kollektief show, courtesy of the Ottawa Jazz Festival. The concert takes place on October 1 2012, at the NAC Fourth Stage.
