Live at the Village Vanguard: celebrating 90 years of an idea
The idea of the Village Vanguard was formulated by Max Gordon in February 1934... 90 years ago. In the 1950s it became a jazz live music venue, and is now the oldest operating jazz club in New York City. Tonight we celebrate the jazz recorded at the club over the decades.
