Luvin it all.... Moe Koffman! D'ya think "Swinging Shepherd Blues" made jazz mainstream in Canada...it was top of charts way back when... $$$ mailed in...$1:50 x 50 shows! I ain't cheap...just fickle!;-) Thanks much!

re: "Swinging Shepherd Blues", it was a hit in the USA and the UK so would have drawn attention to Moe Koffman and Canada. There was certainly a jazz scene here but yes, I imagine it was amplified.

Jazz scene in TO in 60s was tres laid back &cool...used to see Moe, et al in a park (s)....free...Canadian musicians were very approachable cause didn't have 'big heads' & played everywhere.... was great

Love that Moe was approachable. I always like hearing about someone like Alice Cooper being a genuine real human and helping others, not an egocentric jerk.

Jim Galloway lived across back alley from my welfare office in Cabbagetown Toronto...had an old mercedes convert I wanted...used to sit around & chat to get price down then hear him in Sheridan Hotel on Sat afternoons...for price of a beer!!! His wife played .... i forget...i was in house couple of times.... Toronto was calling itself The City Of Jazz in 60s & 70s....but ai no xpert.... play on....
