Punto De Encuentro is like a little window to see what's happening in Latin America; a look into its people, dreams and struggles.
Social Justice and Human Rights issues have a prominent place in this show. We offer an alternative to the communities and topics that are overlooked or ignored and even distorted in the mainstream media. We contribute to Latin and other communities in Ottawa and surrounding areas by promoting them in our show; the ones that are working towards building solidarity, pride and a sense of identity.
Punto De Encuentro communicates and talks to the audience through music with philosophical, political and social messages. You will enjoy a wide range of musical genres which are outside of the Latin stereotypes. We also have a news bulletin, poetry and a weekly tribute to the prominent figures found within the history of our people...
So, tune in every Wednesday from 7-8 PM (EST) and be a part of the journey into a Latin America you may not be used to - after all, Latin America is more than salsa!
