What this country needs is more yodeling. (Petunia was great at Motel Chelsea, oh not two weeks ago!) And good afternoon!

1:36 PM, October 12th, 2022
Renny G (host)
Yeah, I saw that. I would have love to have seen that. The Petunia recording I played can be downloaded for free from Bandcamp.

Renny G (host)
And I'd like to thank you for tuning in too, Benoît.

Renny G (host)
With all the garbage songs I play, you'd think that Glad Bags would sponsor my show.

Renny G (host)
I hold out hope for a brewery, or a distillery, or a condom company, or, at the very least, a pot shop, to one day sponsor the Riot.

A deluded deejay can dream, can't they?

I"m guessing that the R. Crumb (& CSG) is Robert Crumb, the (in)famous cartoon author?

2:00 PM, October 12th, 2022
Renny G (host)
Yes indeed, it is the famous artist behind Mr. Natural, Fritz The Cat & Janis Joplin & The Holding Company's Cheap Thrills album.

2:02 PM, October 12th, 2022
Renny G (host)
He collects old 78s of old timey country, hokum blues, jug bands, old jazz, blues etc.

I remember Sneezy busking on the Sparks St. mall, way before he hit the big time. (1974 ?) Never realized Paycheck was such a good singer!

2:25 PM, October 12th, 2022
Renny G (host)
Oh yeah, Paychecks recordings on Little Darlin' records are amazing. He used to open for George Jones, back in the days when George wouldn't show up for gigs. They'd get Johnny Paycheck on stage to sing with George Jones' band.

These guys, the Mono Men & The Nomads, from Sweden, were the two bands that I loved in the Nineties.

Saw the Mono Men open for The Cynics at the Zaphods on Rideau Street, '92 or '93. I enjoyed them a bit more than the Cynics. Both were great though.

3:18 PM, October 12th, 2022
Renny G (host)
Wow! I would have loved to have seen them, but those were my penitence years of living in Toronto.

3:22 PM, October 12th, 2022
