Live with BIANCA BASSO and some of KLO's Picks for the 2014 Ottawa Jazz Festival - Part Two

What a wonderful treat to host Ottawa based musicians Bianco Basso for a live interview and performance in studio. They will be appearing at the NAC Fourth Stage in Ottawa on Thursday June 5th. Bianca Basso is the creative duo of singer Bianca Pittoors and bassist Marc Langis. Since their collaboration began they have woven a tapestry of distinctive and colourful original music. We featured some cuts from their latest CD entitled "i love" and had a call-in contest for a pair of tickets to their concert. Unfortunately, I did something wrong that lost my introduction to the program but we got it working right for the interview and performance! After that, I presented Part 2 of my program featuring recordings by some of the artists I am particularly looking forward to seeing and hearing at the 2014 TD Ottawa Jazz Festival taking place from June 20th to July 1st. I thought I had mixed up some of the tracks but all was good with one extra tune by Jim Tomlinson getting airplay that I had not programmed; bonus! A couple of other corrections: The group Herbie's Hill that Swing host Vince Rimbach will be appearing in at the Ottawa Jazz Festival on Monday June 23 features the music of Herbie Nichols and Andrew Hill. The group I heard at Stella Luna that night was called Marc Decho's Sunday Night Blues & Roots Buffet and they were terrific. Check 'em out if you get a chance.
