Global Minimalism

American 20th Century minimalism meets its influences from Africa and Indonesia, with an African percussion version of Terry Riley's iconic In C and a Javanese gamelan playing compositions inspired by the same composition. We'll also hear Montreal-based pipa virtuoso Liu Fang play some Philip Glass and some mallet-heavy Steve Reich minimalism. Plus, another look at the Miles From India album from a couple of years ago.
