Hi Rob, Listening in today while tackling some household chores! Yes, iPods are great for songs that come up in a shuffle.

Hi Shelly! Yeah, I coulda programmed the whole show today based on what came up on my shuffle while I was out for a run yesterday. But I restrained myself to a couple of cuts. Too many other fish to fry today!

Wow! This is really great music! 5K is a good distance. I have a few T.I.E. songs on my 'treadmill' playlist. World music is great for running.

Oh, I'm glad you're liking it! Me, of course, I think world music is great for running and for just about everything else!

This Island Eno! Have you heard that acoustic version of Music for Airports? I played part IV a few weeks back and quite enjoyed it.

Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Hey 'Noor! Yeah, Bang on a Can! I heard you play it then, and I've played it before on the show too.

This Island Eno - that's funny!

The clarinet player on that Music For Airports is Evan Ziporyn, who also has a gamelan and does all kinds of indonesian-influenced stuff, incidentally.

Alnoor Allidina (host)
Cool. Have you played his stuff before? Maybe I can find it on-demand.

3:15 PM, September 7th, 2014
Rob Bitschofsky (host)
Yeah, I've played a few cuts from his Gamelan Galak Tika fusion project. Very cool, but I think it might have been from before On-Demand.
