Welcome Mica - Songs about babies, children and parenting from many different perspectives. For my new grand daughter Mica (and her Mom and Dad!)

Tonight a set of songs all about babies, children and parenting. All of these songs present different perspectives on bringing children into the world and raising them. It's a set of music to celebrate children and all they bring us and it's to mark the birth of my first grandchild, Mica, who was born on November 9th. Some of these songs are quite touching as they depict some of the challenges of raising children. I really think all of them speak to the beauty and mystery of children and these artists all find extraordinary ways to express these ideas. I hope you enjoy this mix. Here is the link to the incredibly negative review that Pitchfork handed the Clem Snide album "Soft Spot." I'm partially loathe to share it... but at the same time I'm sharing it as an example of how a music reviewer can get completely over the top negative about a song or album... and completely miss the point. Clem Snide's "Soft Spot" features a lot of beautiful, touching, personal songs about how having a child changed Eff Barzley... and the reviewer simply cannot go on the journey with Eff and so he mocks the artist. I think it's the reviewer who then comes off badly.
