Antônio Carlos Jobim and the Brazilian Bossa Nova wave

Antônio Carlos Jobim, the "father of bossa nova", was born January 25, 1927 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Jobim's "The Girl From Ipanema" is the second most recorded/covered song of all-time, and he wrote numerous songs that are standards today. Jobim was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1991. "Tom" Jobim died aged 67 in New York City. The Bossa Nova sound was established with the soundtrack to the 1959 film Black Orpheus (Orfeu Negro), composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Luis Bonfa. Bossa Nova stemmed from Brazilian samba music and dance that dates back to the 1600s, established by Black slaves from Africa during the Portuguese colonization of Brazil. Today's episode comprises mainly Brazilian compositions from the first wave of bossa nova (new wave or new trend, in Portuguese). Thanks to American producer Creed Taylor, Bossa Nova made a big splash worldwide in the early 1960s as artists such as Stan Getz, Charlie Byrd, Herbie Mann, Coleman Hawkins, and Vince Guaraldi played the music of Brazilians Antonio Carlos Jobim, Luis Bonfá, João Gilberto, Baden Powell, Edu Lobo, Jorge Ben, etc. Antonio Carlos Jobim... without whom

hi Ben, loved the I think chance meeting show, some info about constellations and distances between heavenly bodies just the pettiness of all the shit here in the face of no way to explain life dominating this planet whose galaxy whips fast The idea of a god able to create himself, before space and time, and then a bit of infinite time and space, furnishing life with its property of imagination, might be how humans make their present so ridiculous, like costly, so not totally our fault, yet our responsibility not to. imagination as a word can be second only to an idea of a god or to such a truth, being the summit of itself, for now i believe. earth and sentience tour outer space in the comfort of this galaxy. what can trillions of dollars and how seriously bring one closer to? required neither by a universe nor an idea of a god trying to think out of the idea of thinking out of a box thanks for all Ben!
