Good point, Benoit. I think when improvising, they are even more accomplished than classical players.

Oh yeah! Matter of fact, I've heard classicals state that they're envious of that capacity of jazz players.

And some will on purpose go play in other genres, just to cultivate their spontaneity, musicality, etc.
