Good evening everyone, Welcome to our continued tour of the CKCU program guide. When we began - at this time last year - Steve's longstanding show "Volume, Contrast, Brilliance" occupied the Saturday 6-8pm time slot. But before we could reach that point on our tour, the show moved to Wednesday afternoons, which the tour had already passed. "The Replacements" now airs on Saturdays from 6-8. Tonight's edition features artists who've been played on either of those two shows on a Saturday evening..

Glad that Steve has a new place on the grid. Funny enough some of my Saturday nights when I was in high school were spent babysitting doing homework and tuned into the mighty 93 way back in the day.

Hi Shelley, never too late - or too early even - for a rousing Saturday night!

Just in, late, and as doing some chores... YES Saturday night, always good "arousing" musical adventures on CKCU. Yes, Volume Contrast Brilliance (an old fave) moved to emit Steve's special sauce on Weds -- spread the joy. AND now we have Replacements wiggling our ears in unusual ways and joins Heavy Friends (long establish fort holder, name says it all). Happy sonic mayhem stays firmly in place! Peace&Beats ALL

Enjoy the theme btw! The "(Program) Guide(d) Tour" reflects how i often listen in to CKCU (this program included). Hit up OnDemand, crack the Guide and poke a fave show to see what's been up. Or, even better, jump into Guide at some random spot "just to see what happens". Often leads to totally unexpected surprises ... some happier than others, some even unhappy (but at least tried and now ya know). That's the nature of the community radio beast -- embracing diversity.

A lot of this music sounded just like when I used to listen to CKCU on a Saturday night all those years ago Brings back some memories for sure

Thanks PeterB, that's a great reflection on the spirit of Radio Carleton as someone from Toronto almost said :-).

Hi Steve, thank you :-). When the tour began I was looking forward to getting to Saturdays at 6pm - the VCB spot for so very long - and having a good old delve back through your playlists and plucking artists you've featured along the way. But, as we now know, by the time the tour rolled up to that time slot you'd set sail in the direction of Wednesday afternoons. So I decided to do a bit of both: VCB and the current custodians of that time slot "The Replacements". So glad you enjoyed it!
