SLIM PEZIM (October 25, 1945 - January 18, 2024), MARC CHANTEREAU (December 3, 1947 - December 26, 2024), PIERRE-ALAIN DAHAN (March 1,1943 - December 23, 2023)

SLIM PEZIM, MARC CHANTEREAU and PIERRE-ALAIN DAHAN were French musicians and producers who worked with an exhausting list of major acts. They were responsible for various recordings. When they died in 2023 and 2024, we never heard about it. We salute HEAVY BEN'S "In Memoriam" series here on CKCU's amazing 'Heavy Friends' show for including their demise. It was one of the few shows in any media source in North America that did so. The lack of coverage about their deaths on most of the media in Canada is absolutely disgusting! They were directly involved with creating many EURODISCO and SPACE classics that enriched the lives of billions!
C.C.P.P.

C.C.P.P. was quickly established as one of France's "jazz-funk/fusion super groups" in 1974 and 1975. The band name was actually the initials of the main members' surnames: CECCARELLI,
CHANTEREAU, PADOVAN, PEZIN. The featured track "Prancai" was popular in some discos in Europe and the United States when the C.C.P.P. album was released in 1975.
Those members included ANDRÉ CECCARELLI, CHRISTIAN PADOVAN, MARC CHANTEREAU and SLIM PEZIM.

SLIM PEZIM's AFRICAN CONNECTION

SLIM PEZIM produced so many African recording artists over the years that some sources raved about his contributions of African Music, He was serious about his dedication to AFRICAN DISCO in the 1970's and early 1980's. He actually produced ZOUK and SOUKOUS recordings in the late 1980's and the twenty-first century. No other EURODISCO producer contributed to the development of African talent as much as SLIM PEZIM!

SLIM PEZIM's AFRICAN CONNECTION

Here is an example of SLIM PEZIM producing ZOUK with the French singer and educator MARIJOSÉ ALIE. CHANTAL AYISSI's 2005 SOUKOUS influenced hit "Aloba" was coproduced with SLIM PEZIM. Hailing from Cameroun, she is an important figure in the modern BIKUTSI scene. No other EURODISCO producer ever dabbled with such current styles!

Was listening, preparing food. I used to listen to Slim Pezim on an LP by T-Bone Walker (blues) recorded in France. Always wondered who that guy was... Now i know more... Thanks.
