Remembering Cyril MacPhee; The South Grenville Bluegrass Festival, and more
I’ve got lots of music for you today, featuring the music of the late Cyril MacPhee, a wonderful singer songwriter from Cape Breton. Sadly Cyril passed on last year, but his daughter has made available some of his music, and I’m going to play several cuts from his album Back on Track.
I'll also play a few songs from some of the bands you’ll hear at the South Grenville Bluegrass Festival coming up August 5-9 in Spencerville - just south of Kemptville On. It’s a great festival and I’m looking forward to taking Maple Hill to their stage …
But first I’m going to start with a couple of tracks from an album by Duke Street Turnaround. I first saw these guys at Tottenham Bluegrass Festival this past June, and they are fabulous. as a side note, I’ll be doing a review of their CD for the Fall issue of the Bluegrass Music Association of Canada Magazine .
