Doors: 7:00 PM | Show: 7:30 PM

For one unforgettable evening, experience the extraordinary artistry of Barbatuques—the internationally acclaimed Brazilian body percussion phenomenon.
Featuring co-founders Lu Horta, Helô Ribeiro, and Mariah Rocha, this intimate concert explores the limitless possibilities of the human body as an instrument.
Through original compositions and beloved Barbatuques repertoire, the trio creates a mesmerizing musical journey where claps, breaths, footsteps, body percussion, and soaring vocal harmonies come together in a performance that is joyful, powerful, and deeply rooted in Brazilian rhythms.
Joining them on stage are David Dafré (guitar) and Marcelo Effori (samplers & percussion), adding rich contemporary textures to this unique musical encounter between Brazil and Canada.

Opening the evening is Ottawa-based Brazilian classical guitarist and composer Victor Anastacio, presenting music from his acclaimed project **Moongate**. Inspired by landscapes and visual art, his impressionistic compositions for classical guitar, flute, and double bass invite audiences into an intimate world of atmosphere, colour, and emotion.

You just solved a mystery for me. Next will be playing a Crackazat remix. I listen to house.fm sometimes and the host played a Crackazat tune, Shine, but i didn't understand the producer's name... british accent... Now i found it. Thanks.

Was enjoying a glass of Prosecco while listening to the music. It is my birth month so i am going for it. Had gift cards which enabled me to make the purchase. Nice.

The selections are top-notch. Mixing Moodyman from Igna Igwebuike was seamless. Cool.

The Ralph Weeks track i will try to get, as well as the Moodymann release. I have the Ron Trent remix, mostly because i like Soul II Soul and Ron Trent, and i heard that the track had won a Grammy. Which doesn't make it better... I was curious. Peace and Love. Happy month of August, 2026. I am reading the Jane Meyer book "Dark Money" which details the role of very wealthy men in the USA and their influence with the creation of foundations to escape taxes, and and the goal being to control the public mind. These people work behind the scenes and chose to control the courts and higher education (law schools). The worldview prevalent today is a result of what has been happening in the last 55 years, although it could be said that the conservative movement really began with the opposition to the New Deal in the 30s. The book is well researched. Another interesting book with the same subject matter, Invisible Hands. Down with the American Enterprise Institute and The Heritage Foundation.

Hey robert, Happy birth month to you. hope you enjoyed your Prosecco! Glad to have helped solve the mystery of "Crackazat", his album is top notch and the remix is quite nice as well. The Moodymann is a killer album as is most of his productions. I hope to catch a DJ set from him someday.. Glad you enjoyed the transition from Igna Igwebuike to Moodymann, it came together by pure luck and had to take a second listen to realize how well they went together, cheers! Love the Ralph Weeks and I'm definitely a massive fan of Soul II Soul and had the pleasure of sharing the decks with Ron Trent in the early 2000's, true legend. Been meaning to pick up the Jane Meyer book for a while and will now try to source it with your endorsement. Down w/ the American Enterprise Institute and The Heritage Foundation, INDEED!. Thanks for all the fantastic comments! Have a great weekend!

N&D always most welcome for the music, it's my mission to share. Going to hopefully pull together a full show featuring a taste of all the Cumbia I've been collecting over the years. Stay tuned.
