We open in conversation with Kalle Mattson of summersets, telling us about the new album Pine Trees In A Perfect Row and their show at the National Arts Centre's Fourth Stage on Saturday (Oct. 14th.) Kalle tells us about some of the song structures he uses on this album and about co-writing some of the new songs. For tickets to see summersets at the NAC use this link: https://nac-cna.ca/en/event/41583 For more information and music by summersets: https://www.summersets.ca/ https://summersets.bandcamp.com/music Then we track down and check in with American singer-songwriter Anna Graves while she was in Salt Lake City waiting to load in for her show there last week. She's very busy touring to support her debut album America's Greatest Burnout. It's an album that has been a long time in the making and she tells us about the challenges she faced working in the music biz and how she had to head back home to Minnesota to recharge and refocus before recording this album. Hence ideas about resilience run through many songs on this album and we talk about that and her love for her home state of Minnesota. You can see Anna Graves at Club SAW next Wednesday, October 14th.
