HOST OF: Canadian Spaces, Saturday Morning

YEAR STARTED: 2022

Teresa has been listening to CKCU since it first came on air in 1975.  She attended Carleton then, briefly, before deciding to enroll in the school of travel -- hitchkiking around the continent.  

CKCU has introduced her to a wide variey of music, and artists from all genres.  She has been a loyal station supporter all along.

Teresa is a happily-retired midwife, a mother of four, and a grandmother of ten. She is an actor, musician, poet, songwriter, and enjoys many artistic pursuits in textile arts and collages.

Her husband, Alan Surmachynski, has been a host on CKCU for over 30 years. She has often helped him out with his Tuesday evening shows, as well as many fill-ins for Canadian Spaces, Saturday Morning, The Back Forty and Music From the Glen.  

In late 2022, Teresa was thrilled to be invited to join the rotating hosts of Canadian Spaces, then in the spring of 2023, Saturday Morning.  It is always a pleasure to curate special playlists for those venerated CKCU programs on Saturday mornings.
