Dennis P. Sakalauskas has hosted Tuesday Special Blend on CKCU 93.1 FM since June 2019. Broadcasting live from Ottawa every Tuesday morning, the show blends grassroots music, community voices, and conversations with local artists and creators.

Having lived and worked in Scotland, Boston, Montréal, and Canada’s Atlantic provinces, Dennis returned to his hometown of Ottawa to pursue his passion for live productions and community broadcasting. Through Tuesday Special Blend, he highlights Ottawa’s independent music scene, theatre community, and cultural events while giving emerging performers a platform on local radio.

Tuesday Special Blend has featured a wide range of artists, musicians, and community leaders. Guests have included Juno Award–winning singer-songwriter Tomi Swick, guitarist Alex Goupil, and bands such as Beta Radio, The Lowest of the Low, NAAIM, and Panther in Peril. The show has also welcomed adventurers including ultra-runner and filmmaker Ray Zahab and ultra-runner and filmmaker Jeff Pelletier. The program also supports community initiatives, including events for Canadian military veterans and Ottawa’s annual Dovercourt charity parade supporting individuals with special needs.

In addition to broadcasting, Dennis is also a performer and educator. On stage, he has appeared in productions such as Fishing for Fate with RR Theatre Company and Self-Help and A Virtual Whodunnit with ITR Theatre. Whether on stage or behind the microphone, he is known for creating energetic and engaging experiences for audiences while supporting Ottawa’s and Canada’s vibrant arts community.
