I first joined CKCU in 2007 with Indigenous CKCU, then launched Midnight Waves in 2014, and Shirley's Corner in 2022. Every episode reminds me why I started: to connect, to educate, and to celebrate Indigneous creativity.

Currently on the CKCU Board of Trustees since April 2023.

I host Shirley's Corner - a one hour show that celebrates Indigenous voices through music, stories, and spoken word. Every Wednesday at 3:30pm I share the sounds and stories of Indigenous singers, songwriters, musicians, and storytellers from North America. As a First Nation woman and a one-person volunteer, I research, curate, produce, and host every episode myself. Each show is built around a unique theme, exploring the incredible range, creativity, and resilience of Indigenous artistry. The show is personal and a way to honour our history and resilience, to share our struggles and our triumps, and to keep our voices alive for future generations by keeping our culture and spirit alive through music and storytelling. 

When I'm off the air, I'm listening to CKCU 93.1 FM, anything that tells a story from the heart.
