Pat Moore
YEAR STARTED: 2000
CKCU welcomed Pat Moore to the team about 25+ years ago as a member of the Board of Directors, and shortly after, as a show host, bringing Weekend Warm-Up, Friday’s drive home show to the airwaves, featuring what’s going on in Ottawa. After several years Pat moved over to Saturdays as one of the 4 hosts on rotation for The Saturday Morning Show. At some point Pat did a second stint at serving on the Board. During the “Pandemic Years” Pat started a show she called In My Good Books - reading to the audience, starting with a Louise Penny novel (for which she gained permission from Ms Penny herself) and several short stories, eventually adding sound effects to enhance the fun. Following the “Pandemic Years” Pat decided to step back from The Saturday Morning Show to allow more time for her own music career, but joined the Back 40 Collective where she still is today.
Radio isn’t Pat’s first introduction to audiences – she is well known for her powerful and expressive singing voice, with the gift of drawing you into each song, and taking you on the journey. Whether it’s an original song, jazz, roots, blues or bluegrass, the emotion, playfulness, and depth of Pat’s style will linger with you long after the show.
An all round entertainer, with an engaging stage presence, Pat is also well known for her productions such as the annual Christmas GOOSE concerts in support of the Ottawa Food Bank, and the Ottawa Opry.
Pat is also a silversmith, a mother and grandmother, and a retired Human Resource professional. She has served on the CKCU board for a total of close to 10 years, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Institute of Conflict Resolution…but that’s a whole other resumé!
