Dear Friends,
Do you like to garden? Take your gardening to the next level with tips about sustainable gardening practices and using seeds native to one's local area to promote a biodiverse ecosystem.
Please mark your calendar for our next Environment Café 613 presentation on November 18th at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on Zoom at the link below.
Mélanie Ouellette, Founder and Chair of the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library, will be sharing her knowledge about sustainable gardening practices using native seeds and plants to provide a habitat that nourishes butterflies, bees and birds.
Just like a regular library, the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library provides free seeds and plants that people can “check out” to grow in their own gardens. Once the plants have flowered and gone to seed, people can “return” some seeds to the library to make them available for other people.
Farid Mullally will be playing violin music for this Cafe program. In addition to playing violin in the Ottawa Pops Orchestra, Farid has a passion for our relationship with the environment, building vibrant and sustainable communities. He works for a consulting firm as a transportation engineer, focusing on encouraging walking, cycling, and public transit through mobility planning and infrastructure design.
Kindly invite your friends and family who might be interested in this fun and educational evening to join for multi-faith devotions, live music, an informative presentation and Q&A / conversation, sponsored by the Ottawa Environment Forum.
