the colossal work of British Mike Westbrook Free Big Band Music – Le Cortège

British artists have already expressed their concerns about the Brexit. No wonder, most of them including Mike Westbrook got their funding entirely from the European Union. Decades of conservative governments that are known to be anti-arts especially when it is avant-garde drove artists in good hands, the European Union. Same thing for performing, the Mike Westbrook Orchestra has performed mostly internationally and especially in Europe. Thanks to that political configuration, Mike Westbrook was able to assemble a colossal work over four decades with his Orchestra, a Free Jazz big band that encompasses all aspects of Jazz.
