Roddy Ellias Monday’s Dream new CD

A CD by Roddy Ellias, the Canadian National Jazz Hero, is a rare opportunity not to be missed. Roddy Ellias privileges the acoustic guitar where he can exploit texture and dynamics simultaneously. The immense knowledge of all sorts of music beyond Jazz gives Roddy Ellias works a sense of familiarity within novelty. There is always something to hang on to his music. Overall, the music can be easily switched from one genre to another, Classical or Jazz and many detours through other genres, it all depends at which end you start but there is no sense of origin and destination here, you are constantly bashed from one style to the other back and forth without you even noticing it. Overall, as far as I am concerned, this new CD pretty well illustrates the concept of Nirvana. Tonight, Roddy Ellias will be in the studio to talk about this latest CD.
