Dave Meehan - the wonderbrass album was awesome - caught only the last half hour, but it hit its mark. My first experience with Ottawa was a HS band- exchange with gloucester, returning to work for three years for a photographer at the Chateau.. Practicing brass instruments was my life for 5-7 hours per day by final year of HS, entering college for it, only to decide soon that I was quite burned out on playing, and preferred being outdoors and problem solving, understanding also that composing was the real deal, and life would play differently than friends who went into the industry to teach. The Ottawa Jazz fest was a favorite summer stop – with CKCU all weekend. Now as a reclusive artist and writer, CKCU online is that window to blue skies and gulls over water. Thank you again, for putting another great program together!
