We're on the last legs of our Road to the Oscars with Mel Gibson's Godsploitation film Hacksaw Ridge (2016). Mike and Josh don't quite have an agreement nor an argument about what works and what does not. The film is compared to the themes in Silence (2016), but also to the other film of this edition Sergeant York (1941) an Academy Award winning film about Medal of Honor recipient Alvin York. From there it's Red River (1948) and the Hawksian woman and the films of Hudson Hawk in the post-war period. Remember to watch the Academy Awards! We can all share in the grumbling next Monday.
