Native North America, Vol. 1: Aboriginal Folk, Rock, and Country 1966–1985 is a compilation album released in 2014 on Light in the Attic Records. Compiled by Kevin "Sipreano" Howes, the album collects rare and out of print recordings by First Nations, Métis and Inuit musicians from Canada and Alaska. Willie Dunn was a Metis songwriter, musician, filmmaker, playright, activist, politician who sadly died in 2013. He was born in Montreal to a Mi'kmaq mother and Scottish- Irish father but spent time growing up in Listuguj on the south shore of the Gaspe Peninsula. Tracks recorded circa 1971.

Sikimiut means "people of the ice" in Inuktitut. The group was formed in Puuvirnituq, an Inuit community in nothern Quebec. This was recorded in 1975.

Willy Mitchell and The Desert River Band - Native North America Vol.1 - Light In The Attic 2014 Canadian
Willy Mitchell was Algonquin who grew up in the Kitigan Zibi rez in Quebec. He formed the band The Northern Lights in 1968, but was put out for a while by a shot in his head by a policeman. He survived and recovered to have a solo music career as well as with the band in the 1970s. Recorded circa 1980.

The band are Plains Cree from Saddle Lake Rez in Alberta, who grew up farmers inspired by a battery powered radio and Hank Williams. This was recorded in 1982.

Willie Thrasher was born in Aklavik, Northwest Territories but was sent at the age of 5 to a series of Catholic residential schools where he was forbidden to practice his Inuvialuit culture. He took solace in listening to the radio and was inspired to make his own music. He formed the band The Cordells which was one of the first Inuit rock bands in the region. Track recorded 1979
