Guitars for Vets

This week, Kim and Shelley welcome James Van Wort, team lead for the Ottawa area with Guitars for Vets, a program that provides guitars and lessons to veterans who are living with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). Tune in and learn more about this very innovative program. For more information, www.vetscanada.org--there is a link where you can find out more and vets can apply to participate in the program. Guitars for Vets provides a donated guitar and approx. 10 weeks of instruction from volunteer instructors. Typically 10 weeks at approx. 1 hour per week. They also have an online program for lessons but they are looking for more volunteer instructors. Visit www.vetscanada.org and click on the Guitars for Vets link to apply or to volunteer. There is also a GoFundMe page. To hear more, listen to Window Of Opportunity (November 11 3:00 p.m. ).

Great interview with James Van Wort today and am so glad there is a program like Guitars for Vets! I would love to hear about how the program helped one of the guitar recipients. Fantastic show once again!
