Brandon Wint on Masculinity, Disability and Sexuality Tuesday, March 14th at 5 PM - 7 PM, Graduate Students' Association, 6th floor University Centre Carleton University. The venue is free for all to attend and is accessible. Brandon Wint is a poet, spoken word artist, and prominent teacher of writing, currently living in Edmonton, Alberta. He is, perhaps, best known for his ability to rousingly articulate the mysteries of love, romance and kindness in his poetry. Beyond his professional and competitive accolades, which include two national championships in the arena of poetry slam (2009 and 2010), and publication in Canada's first comprehensive anthology of contemporary black poetry-- The Great Black North, in 2012 CUAG Curators’ talk: Making Radio Space in 1930s Canada Tuesday, March 14th at 7 PM - 8:30 PM, Carleton University Art Gallery, St. Patrick's Building An exhibition walk-through and talk by Making Radio Space in 1930s curators Michael Windover and Anne MacLennan. Presenting a look at the visual and material culture of radio in 1930s Canada, this exhibition offers a new way to think about a medium closely associated with twentieth-century modernity.
