Why don't you ask for the viewpoint of a Vanier resident? Ask SOSVanier to do an interview. They have a very informed and well-researched opinion.

This MEGA shelter will have 350 beds; 200+ employees / volunteers and only 27 parking spaces. This type of building has been proven to have an 80% failure rate. Whereas many places through out the whole city has been proven to have an 83% rate. Look at Regina with their "Housing First" Program. It is a compete and utter success. OMG. Talk about a one-sided interview! Who is Larry Seguin and what is his deal on the subject of the SA Mega-Shelter? You said he had been digging into this issue, but I thing his shovel only dug up one side. He knows nothing of the Vanier stance on this where passionate residents are looking to hang on to progress made which has been a struggle. He talked about "not being able to walk with your kids downtown whe the SA is". Well we in Vanier are trying to keep our kids safe inn their own backyards without having to worry about them picking up, butts, condoms an seringes, or worse coming across someone sleeping it off!!! Perhaps you should be informed about the subject before you put someone on the air, and contact someone from Vanier who can give you some real facts about this critical issue for its residents. The SA may think its a done deal, but a group called SOS Vanier is ready to defend their city!
