Now a quick 'miscellaneous set', starting with a track that's been stuck in my head for the past week from an LP I picked up when it came out in 1987 - the Swans' Children of God!
Our Love Lies
Swans - Children Of God
Bowed Gong
Mushroom - Psychedelic Soul on Wax
Ohnworld
Space Debris - Behind the Gate
Now into this week's edition of the Merrie Mack (Mary Mackinnon RIP). A writeup about the first CD says: "Sibelius Academy Emeritus Professor Heikki Laitinen and accordionist wonder Kimmo Pohjonen join forces to play music about taking another person’s life. They recorded this wide array of Finnish murder ballads in February 2012 at Musiikkitalo. The album is not only about the history of the genre as it also includes a ballad improvised live". Markku Lahtelan Sirkus present some great Finnish Experimental Rock/Free Improvisation. After that... no one can fault one for loving the noise/stoner/drone touchstone, can one?

Far be it for me to play something from a 'classic artist'... but Hendrix has always commanded my respect, and I finally got the Electric Ladyland LP back after selling many, many years ago. An awesome 2xLP, from the psychedelic long jams, to the harder-rocking Material.
House Burning Down
Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
The Cleaner
Orgone - Califever
Who No Know Go Know
Fela Kuti - Mr. Follow Follow
Since we're into horn-driven and funky areas now, might as well hit a track from unsung-but-excellent band 'IF' - if you like jazz-rock (emphasis on the rock), their first 4 LPs are excellent! After that, we touch on a bit of prog-classic, from Q-Prog's Et Cetera, thru King Crimson Ex-patriots Ian McDonald and Michael Giles to a classic from our favourite pothead pixies.

After the proggy bits, it's time to work our way into jazz territory to make way for the final feature.
