Loves Gone Bye (Remembering Cynthia Schloss)

Celebrating the music of Cynthia Schloss tonight on Vintage Love. The Voice of an Angel over the CKCU airwaves. We aimed to hit as many of Cynthias' songs as possible in our 2 hours together but time ran out and I had many many more great songs of hers to play. Songs you may know and some you may not. Songs which were on the playlist but time ran away from us like: "Love Me Forever", "Am I Losing You" and others. We were able, however, to bring back memories through songs like, "All The Way In", "You Look Like Love", , "Send Me The Pillow", "Sad Movies", "Mississippi" "12th Of Never" and one of my favorite songs on this planet and any other.. "Surround Me With Love". All this and more on Vintage Love tonight. We also received the sad news that Frankie Paul passed away this week and so we remembered him towards the end of the show with a promise to play more if his music and pay respects to him during next weeks show. So, Frankie Paul and maybe some remaining Cynthia tunes next Saturday night. I hope you can tune in then. Frankie Paul is a legend who had many hits.. some which we will explore next time. Next weeks show will be the last for me for a few weeks as i have to be away for work but you will be in good hands with Chris international taking over the onez and twoz the following Saturday night. I will certainly miss being with you but look forward to my return. Truly.. absence makes the heart grow fonder even if there is no one to tell. I do hope you enjoyed this show featuring the music of Cynthia Schloss because it really stemmed from you.. your phone calls and messages on the IM remarking that in many cases.. that when I played some Cynthia in the past, you knew the song but never knew it was her. So, getting to know her a bit more even though she has been gone from us for nearly 20 years. What a gift of a voice... and what a gift she left for us to enjoy in her absence. Thank you Cynthia. I cant imagine life without your music... so many loves gone bye!!! I hope you will join me again for another episode of Vintage Love, exclusively right here... on CKCU The Mighty 93.1FM. Good night everybody. Have a good night and a better tomorrow. Love, O'shea Adagio Vintage Love vintageloveckcu O'sheaAdagio CKCU 93.1FM www.ckcufm.com

Beatz!
Enjoying the show already! It is so good that Cynthia went to the Merritone's talent show! Otherwise we would not be enjoying these classic tunes of hers.

So true.. so true. I cannot imagine not having some these songs to sing and to listen too. Thank God for Audrey Riley, the Merritone Amateur Talent Exposure and of course for Cynthia herself. Amazing artist!!!

Distinctive voice!
Back in the 80's, the radio stations in JA would play classic tunes on Sunday evenings! Cynthia Schloss - "Paper Roses", was a definite guarantee on the weekend playlists!

For real... Paper Roses was (and still is) a must when playing the oldies and the classics. What a great and amazing era in music.

Love story!
Another classic - "Sad movies" Mr. Merritone seem to have been smitten by Cynthia after the talent show, because he ended up asking for her hand in marriage! Hmmm! :-)

JA's Stevie Wonder
Frankie added words to the dictionary such as Ku-Sheng-Peng! He weathered the odds. He did well despite his vision impairment. RIP Mr. P.

For a future show, can you do a 30 mins. segment on Pam Hall as well. She's another songbird that we love to hear.

Trip down memory lane.
This show definitely reminded me of the 80's. Chillaxing at home on a Sunday evening, listening to tunes like these belting over the airwaves. "Sad movies", "Paper Roses", "Am I that easy to forget". Then on Monday morning, it was a surety to hear a classmate humming or singing to one of these classic ballads. (Days gone by, with a lot of sentiments attached to them).
