The One Ring

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us" - Gandalf (LOTR) Thank you for tuning into VL tonight. What has turned out to be a lovely weekend here in the GOA. Plans had it that I was not to be in tonight to host the show but things changed and here I am. :-) Glad to be with you tonight.. as always but especially tonight.. I dont know... just heard of a lot of people going through hard times.... health issues, financial issues, love and relationship issues and I thought I would start off the show with a set of tunes to hopefully buoy your spirits if you happen to be going through one of these rough patches. As I started to play this set... the phones started to ring and messages of thanks for a positive uplifting start to the show.. so I guess we needed to hear tunes like this. Starting off with Bob Marley & The Wailers with "Three Little Birds".. encouraging you to be mindful that every little things gonna be alright. Then off to our own Ras Lee sending you out plenty of "Showers Of Blessing". Marvia Providence to follow and then Carlene Davis... a request that came in and then a call to rewind that tune. So sending positive vibes, prayers, energy.... everything good to you if you are battling through something. You are not alone!! :-) For the rest of the show, we heard the voices of Ruddy Thomas, Gregory Isaacs (Cool Down The Pace.. not place... cha!) :-) as well as Morgan Heritage, Beres, Pam Hall, Rosie Delmah and Etana with "Richest Girl". Ending off the show with a double spin of Sanchez... as we start, so we end... in a positive way with his version of "He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother".. a big tune that is purely positive... "my brothers keeper"! Then ending the show with a cover of Richard Marx, "Right Here Waiting". Greetings going out to Marlene as well as to Clement and to you. Thank you again for tuning into the show tonight and/or coming back to check it out on demand. Either way, I hope you enjoyed the vibes tonight. The Vintage Love show and After Hours will be pre-empted next week to make way for a CKCU special presentation. So... sadly, I wont be with you next weekend but if you are missing your Reggae and/or After Hours fix, on demand is here for you. For those of you who have come to enjoy After Hours, unfortunately the show will not be continuing past March 2017. That Funding Drive thing... if it goes well great.. if not... then... well.. this can happen. Still happy to have provided this show to you and for you for the last approx. year and a half.. I will miss it when it is gone... in fact I do already. Anyway, I digress... One more AH show. The Finale of AH will air on March 12th at 12:01AM for the final 2 hours. Vintage Love will continue for now so you can still catch me here but I will miss bringing After Hours to you. In any event.. thank you for the year + of bringing 2 shows to you. Great fun it was. I will miss you next week but will be back the following week, Jah willing. Take care until then.. be safe and positive loving vibes to you. Until next time.. have a wonderful day and a better tomorrow. O'shea Adagio Vintage Love International "Playing With Those Memories Again" www.ckcufm.com Facebook: O'sheaAdagio

Andrew
Dear Mr Adagio Just curious how one gets into reggae music in Ottawa as there are very few outlets. I imagine you have a day job? Curious what you do and how you find the time to do such an outstanding job? I am a big fan and you really know how to make one track flow into the other! Thanks for any advise on how to get into reggae music here in Ottawa. Cheers and thanks Andrew

Hey Andrew, how are you doing? Thank you for tuning into the show... and I appreciate your very kind words.. thank you. Yes.. I have a job.. gotta pay the bills too! :-) An outstanding job.. wow... well not sure. I just love music and especially Reggae music and I just feel the music and try to build shows that blend together nicely.. I am no DJ but I try to make the shows flow together. I think we would have to chat about this if you really wanted to talk about maybe getting into radio or something else. I am a strong believer of pursuing your dreams... might as well. So hit me up by email and we can chat: info@vintagelove.net Thanks a lot Andrew.. great to hear from you and thanks again.

Fan
Whatever show will be replacing "After Hours", will not be able to come close to the 'quality' and 'finesse' of 'After Hours'. Try though they may, ....that show will never measure up. Whenever one thinks of great radio programming, - one thinks of 'Vintage Love' and 'After Hours'. Whenever one thinks of a dedicated CKCU Volunteer, - one thinks of O'Shea Adagio, - our #1 DJ! (no one compares to you!)

Why won't you believe me? Oh, darling, darling, I'm calling, calling (calling, calling, calling, calling) --------- Hmmm, classic tune!!

Hi Fan, thank you... those are very nice sentiments and I appreciate hearing that very much. This is how things go though... one day a show is born and another day a show passes on. As I like to say.. a time for everything under the sun. So although I am very glad you have enjoyed the programming I have brought to CKCU through Vintage Love and After Hours, I do hope the show taking over does great and receives the support that After Hours was unable to gain. I truly am sad to see the end of AH but at the same time, I am more happy to have had the opportunity to bring another, different show to you and the other fans of AH. I also wish the new show the very best and hopefully in the weeks and months to come although maybe missing AH... you will be thoroughly enjoying the new programming. It was a pleasure.. so much fun to create and host this show After Hours.... Thank you for tuning in during our run on CKCU. The shows will still be available for awhile in the archives On Demand on the stations website: ckcufm.com Again... thank you thank you thank you!
