This week by total surprise DJ TEKNOBRAT fills in again for The Groove Radio Show, CKCU's flagship disco show with a Just Be aka (Bushwacka!) - Nina Kraviz Double Artist Feature special. In the first hour this features music by Bushwaka! also his new moniquer Just Be and great productions when he was part of Layo & Bushwacka! this London town UK native recently relocated to Ibiza SPAIN produces various organic styles of tribal tech house, deep house, minimal tech house, tribal techno and progressive tech house. Also at the end of the first part we feature an exclusive interview conducted by DJ TEKNOBRAT of JUST BE aka (Bushwacka!) right after recent DJ Performance at Stereo Nightclub in Montreal, Quebec CANADA on June 15th 2013. The second hour of this program starts with an interview with one of Moscow's RUSSIA's top underground techno and minimal tech house exports at this moment no other then NINA KRAVIZ this interview was also conducted by DJ TEKNOBRAT at Movement Festival 2013 at Hart Plaza in Detroit, Michigan, USA right after her DJ Set in the artist lounge. We also feature 15 great tracks she produced featuring remixes from some of the greatest underground techno and minimal tech house artists on our planet. BIO Just Be has recently emerged as the latest project for prolific producer Matthew B, also known as one half of Layo & Bushwacka! . Just Be has held many guises throughout the years, and this latest undertaking is the product of his evolution as an artist who consistently pushes the boundaries of house and techno. His first release under this moniker, “Don’t Make Me Wait For You” is set for release on June 17 on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels imprint. The massive track featuring Jesse Monroe is a wonky slice of pent up tension and swelling moods, reminiscent of proto garage house classics with a touch of modern slinkiness. Just Be’s sound has its foundation in the underground warehouse parties and illegal raves that inspired creative freedom and forward thinking production. He emerged from the melting pot of the UK music scene in the early 90s and was soon hosting up to four residencies in London every weekend. One of these was his 14-year residency at London’s legendary club The End, which gave him a platform to launch himself into the international circuit. Just Be has always been influenced by the legendary island of Ibiza, where he regularly plays at Cocoon, DC-10 and Space. He also maintains his London roots, and his Shake It! Parties, which he curates and promotes with Layo are some of the biggest in the UK. Additionally, his musical output over the years has been phenomenal. With six artist albums and a seventh due this year, he has produced over 120 remixes, and 160 tracks for labels such as XL Recordings, End Recordings and his own labels Olmeto, Plank and Oblong. ---------------------------------------------------------- NINA KRAVIZ BIO Nina Kraviz is currently the name on everyone's lips in the house and techno community. Very rarely does a DJ/Producer shoot to stardom so quickly - and when they do, they seldom have the talent to back it up. Nina is the exception to the rule. After spending her childhood in the Siberian city of Irkutsk, Nina moved to Moscow and gradually found herself more involved in the local scene. She began producing music in 2008, and before long had her first release 'Voices' on the Underground Quality imprint in 2009. Around the same time, Nina began making a name for herself as a DJ, spinning in Moscow's bars and clubs. This led to a 2-year stint running a very well known friday night party at one of the most respected clubs in Russia, Propaganda. Her second release on UQ 'First Time EP' had great support from DJs and press alike, receiving 4.5/5 from Resident Advisor. In the same year she had her 'breakthrough' hit on Rekids, 'Pain In The Ass', featuring the arguably more successful 'I'm Gonna Get You' on the B Side - which Nina still gets asked to play. She also collaborated with Efdemin for their release 'Hotter Than July / Sun' on his Naif label. The gigs started to come thick and fast, and by the end of 2010 Nina could claim to have played the major clubs across the globe - mixing her unique raw blend of house, techno, acid and rare goodies, much to the punters' delight. Last year saw her release a second single on Naif, as well as a collaboration with Sascha Funke on BPitch Control and the well received remix of Okain's 'Scream' on Tsuba. Rekids was also proud to present her second release with us in the form of 'I'm Week' - a truly unique take on house music, that translates just as well on radio without compromising its integrity. Having already smashed up Fabric and the Panorama Bar, Nina is working hard on her debut LP forthcoming on the Rekids label - expect an eclectic mixture of sounds, spanning everything from underground to pop, all with Nina's trademark stamp. We're all really excited to see how far she can go!
