Re "snow": up to recently, the snowfall was skirting us to the South, but since it's moved up to our latitude, it keeps making a "circle of no snow" around the main part of the Ottawa Valley. I haven't seen a speck in old Ottawa East, even though the radar sometimes showed 'snow'. It's windy though.

Crazy eh? Just went into the office to view the city from the 5th floor...dry as a bone so far !

I think "dry" may be the key: it's been dryish, and this fairly light snow, when it gets here, actually a) stops precipitating because it's warmer in the Valley, and b): it can also evaporate before hitting the ground. (And maybe c): I don't know at what altitude the radars (maps) register snowfall.
