Listening from a live/work warehouse creative space in T.O. this AM. Just found out the other day one of the mainstay characters around here is a former CKCU host - Mike (87-2000), did Saturday midnight to 6am. Anyone remember him?

Good day-ay ay ay ay ay ay ay... Nice steady ROCK, today! My recently-repaired and restored Sony tuner amp is feeding it deliciously to the speakers.

Terence
Darn, I don't know! Goes by "Chaga Mike" around here - about 6' 5". Has cassettes of his old shows he's intent on converting. Will try to find out his last name & convey before show's end.

Someone just told me Mike's last name is MacNamara - hope that's right. He remembers you, John. Said he was deliberately low-key on-air - minimum talk, max music, mandatory announcements only, took requests. That jog any memories?

11:12 AM, February 3rd, 2017
John Westhaver (host)
Yes totally...and yes that's going back aways...give him my best {:>))))

11:14 AM, February 3rd, 2017

Great show - as I plug away on student projects over here in the Earth Sci. Building.

The way I noticed your long sets this morning was that I listened to 5-10 minutes of set 2 here at home; then, donning my trusty Porta-Pros and FM receiver, went for a bike ride along the Canal. In perhaps 40 minutes of pedalling in the sun and fresh air, I didn't hear your dulcet tones once! The set ended when I had gotten home and put the 'sound system' back on. Great show!

Professor Mike
Great show as always and long sets for a Friday Morning and Afternoon

Pr Mike: yeah, this show is nonpareil. It's fucking unique. One person I've turned onto it has remained a faithful fan. Hey, why not, great music played the way it might be, but isn't EVER in commercial radio or even on the CBC (bless the CBC anyway!).

Oooh, there's a program in here that automatically -- and tastefully -- dispenses hyphens, as in "fucking", above!
