First up we check in with Joey Landreth who will be appearing solo at the Black Sheep Inn on a bill with the Balconies next Saturday night, May 20th. Joey is part of the Juno-Award winning Brothers Landreth and you'd be hard pressed to differentiate Joey's debut solo album Whiskey from the album he recorded as part of the Brothers Landreth - on Whiskey Joey records with his brother David and drummer Ryan Voth and the music is a similar mix of blues, country, rock and folk influences. Joey explains the solo project and talks about how his family really contributed to his music career. We also talk about playing completely solo and how he reworks big electric blues numbers for the solo setting.

Next up we chat with Josh Ligaya who plays guitars with heavy metal group Auras. We start out talking about how lead vocalist Eric Almeida creates his gritty vocal style and still talks after a gig! We also discuss the metal sub genre djent and how Josh feels about his band being lumped in with this label for groups that mix electronics, melodics and progressive approaches with metal.
