The School of Music of the University of Ottawa is pleased to present the next concert in the Orchestra Series. Featuring the University of Ottawa Orchestra, and the three winners of the 2010 Concerto Competition, under the direction of guest conductor Rennie Regehr, the concert takes place on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. at Saint Brigid’s Centre for the Arts and Humanities (314 St. Patrick Street, at Cumberland) in the heart of the Byward Market.



The winners of this year’s Concerto Competition are mezzo-soprano April Babey, soprano Kareen Lacasse, and flutist Christian Paquette. This annual competition is open to all students registered in the School of Music regardless of degree program or year, and the winners are awarded the opportunity to perform as soloist with the University of Ottawa Orchestra at this concert.

Nielsen – Flute Concerto: Christian Paquette, flute

Bernstein – “Glitter and Be Gay” from Candide: Kareen Lacasse, soprano
